Endodontics- Root Canal Treatment

It’s simple! When cavities extend to the pulp – the center of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels – bacteria in the mouth enters the pulp, leading to infection. At that time a filling alone will not fix the issue! Removing that specific tooth pulp, cleaning and disinfecting the tooth and root filling is necessary to alleviate the pain and save the tooth.

Intense lingering toothache is the most common sign you might need a root canal treatment. Even though, not all patients who need root canal treatment experience pain, long-standing untreated cavities can grow deep into the tooth without the pain alarm! It’s crucial to get regular dental check-ups so we can catch any problems and avoid the risk of infections.
